I am appalled that you would print a letter that expounds so much “hate.” We in the 46th Ward applaud our diversity and are constantly trying to fight hate and prejudice. In Mr. Charlton’s letter, he says home owners spew venom and bitter ooze. That is exactly what he spewed in this letter to the Reader. Pure hatred. Apparently, Mr. Charlton, who does not live in the 46th Ward, believes that the 50-plus million home owners in America are all going to burn in hell because they own homes. Perhaps Mr. Charlton and his benefactor Ms. Shiller should reside in Cuba, where home ownership is “forbidden” by law.
We don’t need hateful rhetoric from Mr. Charlton, Ms. Shiller, or anyone else–we need to come together so we can live in harmony and be neighbors. It’s the only way we will survive.
